Plans with my heavenbound little munchkin.

Here's to the therapeutic effect of writing...

Little Baby, I'm missing you.
...thinkin' of your little smile
just lightin' up the room

Someday I'll hold you
& I'll sing to you, your lullaby
One day, we'll get to catch up
Like no time has passed us by.

Sweet joy remains, in my knowing you
but my heart is sorrow heavy
Little Baby, missing you

Someday you'll hold me too
& soak up my deep embrace.
When this breath of life is over
Let's have a you & mommy date.

Me in a hat.

This is my pix entitled "secret".
I have a vintage hat on that I'll use for tea parties or if I'm feeling extra fancy some day.
Don't ask my secret, I'm sworn to secrecy... but I do think it might have to do with how to get my eyes ever so crossed so effortlessly.

Trends, wedding

the latest trend continues... :) matching aprons!

I made these matching aprons for my cousin's recent wedding. I thought they were was kinda neat. I really like the interesting red floral fabric. The bride's went fairly smoothly since I've done the girly sassy apron a few times now, but the guy BBQ apron was a new thing. It was a very simple design, but my machine stopped cooperating so my plans for a cool stitch on the thick ties didn't pan out, but that's the way cookie crumbles. (Sorry Calen, that's what you get for my first try on the manpron.) I tucked a handful of family recipes in the pocket of the aprons, focusing on a few mexican dishes to go w/ the festive color scheme. Don't know if they'll use or like them, but they did get them & they do like cooking.

Happy 3rd Birthday preparation! Doll House!

Amy and I headed over with the munchkins to a nearby town and I found this sweet find @ the used baby store. It's a Melissa and Doug house, in natural color, but it had color crayon on the roof/side, so I bought it to fix up for Rosie's birthday. :) Here's the fun and tedious process...

doll house & bird house makeover, phase 1

phase 2: purple paint

back of house: tree with bird

details: roof tiles, side sunflowers, & rose trellis

The front! I left the inside plain white for now.
Tmrw we will spray it with a plastic clear spray paint.

I forgot a final shot of the bird house, but it's basically pink and purple messiness. :)

I hid it in the garage and made her wait for her b-day, and she loves it for her Gabba's and little People to play in. :)

My latest painting "Updraft" in Acrylic

An arctic tern, fairly transparent. In Acrylic. I began the background at my friend Eva's house, but had barely any time to work on it, so I brought it home to work it out, it's been refreshing.

progress... added beak/feet.

I think I'm done, added more texture to the sea. Yay! I like the transparent effect of the bird, I'm pleasantly surprised since color isn't my forte, I thought I might go for silhouette, but ended up happy with it. I feel that the sea might be wanting, but not sure where I would go from there, so I left it for now, I think I'm done though. I didn't want to overdo the ocean so the focus would stay on the flight of the bird.

The Harbor, mixed media

Mixed Media: including: photo, ink, watercolor, and pastel. For Shauggy, he liked one I made for Brenn for his b-day, so I did another shot just for the fun of it for him. He gave me creative input along the way so that I knew he'd like the scene! Thanks brother, it was fun scheming together. Now I just gotta mount it, I meant to do that today, drat.

Mini Midnight Snowman

We had some unexpected snow last week, so I made a midnight snowman and a snow angel in the 1/4" of snow. My jeans got quite wet, and then I was cold.

and in the works:

My octopus design for Mikayla's cape emblem. :)
I should post the pix of the finished rocket cape! Oh yeah, and the dinosaur/monster tail. (To be added soon.) And maybe I should actually write something on the blog instead of just crafts. hehe
